🌿 Botanical Heritage
Traditional Origins: Sceletium tortuosum — known as Kanna or Kougoed among the San and Khoikhoi peoples — has been used for centuries across the arid regions of the Cape. European travellers in the late 1600s documented the San and Khoikhoi chewing, fermenting, and smoking Sceletium as part of social, ceremonial, and practical life — on long hunting expeditions, community gatherings, and inter-tribal diplomacy.
Botanical Profile: A small succulent in the Aizoaceae family, native to the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape of South Africa. The "skeleton" appearance of its dried leaves gives rise to the name Sceletium.
Mesembrine and mesembrenone are the primary alkaloids of Sceletium tortuosum and are the subject of ongoing pharmaceutical and academic research globally.

I've been using Kanna for a few years and this is by far the most potent and effective extract I've found. The quality is exceptional and the effects are clean and uplifting.
Sceletium has been used by the San people of Southern Africa for centuries and I now understand why. The mood-elevating and anxiety-relieving effects are gentle but real. This extract is superb quality.
